After you have defeated the Rogue Pokémon, you reconvene at the Hotel. When there, AZ gets asked how he determines the strongest Mega Evolution user and he mentions that it' up t Floette to decide.

You then get your next Promotion Match, the winner gets to Rank A. This is against a mysterious person called Grisham but nobody knows who he is. It's suggested you wait but Taunie/Urbain say you have to find it and wonder who you can ask. The decision is to get Emma's help so you go to the Looker Bureau. She says she'll help but challenges you to a battle to make sure you're safe.

Defeat Emma and she will ask what you know of Team Flare and give the history of what Team Flare did and how Lysandre reappeared calling himself L. She mentions about her old ties with someone from Team Flare and that's how she learned of Grisham, one of the young trainers Team Flare taught. She recommends you go to Mable to get more information

Description: Go to the Pokémon Research Lab to talk to Mable. She is angry at the mayor but asks what you want. Asking about Grisham, she says you already know more than you let on and mentions how she used to be part of Team Flare but got out as part of a plea deal. She recommends you go to the Nouveau café in Centrico Plaza to find out more.

When you go there, you ask about a meeting with Grisham. They announce that you have found your opponent and that their own goals have led them to the Z-A Royale and you can't be defeated. Grisham offers to explain the whole thing but Grisella tries to stop him. They send you to a defunt Café in the city to talk more

Description: When you arrive there, they tell you that you are at Lysandre Café which was very important for Team Flare in the past, but it is now just an empty storefront. Griselle gets angry that Grisham is trying to explain things yto you and challenges you to a battle.

Defeat Griselle and Grisham will heal your Pokémon and explain what happened five years ago with Lysandre and the ultimate weapon, which he explains as AZ's creation. He finds it laughable and tells you to go into the Lysandre Labs in the café, a facility that was used for research in the past. He says to go in and see the evidence for yourself

Description: Explore the labs and get through the wild Pokémon to find Key Cards to get to the Elevator Key. When you reach the end, you can go down to B3F and go to the machine that talks about the machine that grants life and the ultimate weapon. When you have finished reading the materials, L appears and explains that 1000 years after creating the ultimate weapon, he made a device that dwells in Prism Tower. He explains that he remembers the explosion from the ultimate weapon but not the cause and how he was buried alive until Zygarde saved him ad in protecting everyone else, it exhausted his power.

He explains that when the weapon activated, the device in Prism Tower also activated sensing danger and has become a threat to Lumiose City and will soon enter a frenzied state. He says the only way to bring it under control is with Floette. He says to talk to Grisham and do what needs to be done.

Grisham asks if you learned what you needed to and is shocked Lydsandre is alive, though doesn't remember them. Grisham then gives you an ultimatum to give him AZ'S Floette so he can Rank up and protect Prism Tower.

Description: Returning to Hotel Z, AZ says it is time to tell you all everything and goes to the roof. He explains the history of the war and how Floette died and he made a machine to bring Floette back to life, and remade the device into the ultimate weapon. He then says that he made Ange, the device deep in Prism Tower to give meaning to the eternal life he had given Floette and atone what he did and when he did reunite with Floette, he didn't need to use the machine because it was a time of peace. However, the tower is releasing power even without Mega Floette present. He explains his Floette can Mega Evolve as it can't evolve. AZ says that he is trying to write his wrongs and apologises.

It is then time to go to Grisham with a Challenger's Ticket. Grisham asks if you will give him Floette and evetually accepts the battle even though you won't give Floette in order to prove that he is worthy of Floette's power and can protect the city.
