Niantic have detailed the Mega Raid Challenge event. Runs from 08:00 local time tomorrow until 10:00pm local time on September 7th. During this event, if players defeat 2 million Mega Raids, then Mega Pidgeot will be unlocked in Mega Raids. This event contains an increased amount of Mega Raids as well as Mega Energy for the Kanto Starters in Field Research. Abra, Magnemite, Exeggcute, Rhyhorn, Tangela, Electabuzz, Omanyte, Aerodactyl, Murkrow, Treecko, Torchic, Lotad, and Roselia. will appear in the wild
From September 11th to 17th, it is the Mega Battle Challenge. Complete 275 million battles to unlock Mega Houndoom. During this event you'll get Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise & Beedrill Mega Energy in Field Research tasks and receive a temporary CP boost when you use Mega Beedrill in battle. Caterpie, Weedle, Paras, Venonat, Scyther, Pinsir, Ledyba, Spinarak, Wurmple, Kricketot, and Burmy will spawn in the event and there will be new Shadow Pokémon. Timed Research will be added in the event and the will be Shiny Ledyba
From September 22nd through September 28th it's the Mega Buddy Challenge. There will be Timed Research and Mega Evolved Pokémon will last for 12 hours. Large Pokémon such as Doduo, Alolan Exeggutor, Pinsir, Lapras, Snorlax, Furret, Wobbuffet, Mantine, Skarmory will appear in the wild with Shiny Doduo available. You'll also get Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise as well as Beedrill Mega Energy in Field Research. Complete the Timed Research during this event to unlock Mega Gengar during the Halloween Event

You can now get items to get you to unlock the Level 125 cap on your Sync Pairs. This is done through a new Cap Unlock Area in the Training Area. We have updated the section with all the new stages
You can now get items to improve the Type Skills on your Sync Pairs
You can now increase several characters to be 6☆EX, Capable allowing for a special change of effect of their Sync Move and outfit. Only Rosa, Red, Blue and Leaf have 6☆EX capability
The new Training with Legends Solo Event is now live. This event tells a story of battling through various trainers and gives a variety of rewards. Alongside this, Sync Pair Scouts for Red & Charizard, Sygna Suit Blue & Blastoise & Sygna Suit Leaf & Venusaur are live from today

This confirms that you initially need 200 Mega Energy to evolve the Kanto starters and 100 to Mega Evolve Beedrill. We also have confirmed the stats for these Mega Evolved Pokémon and have updated our Pokémon Listings and Database We'll be continuing to update as all info comes out

From now, all 2 star Raids are now grouped with 1 star raids and all prior 4 star raids are grouped with 3 Star Raids. Niantic have announced the introduction of Mega Evolution through various news outlets including Gamespot, Eurogamer & VG247. Coming tomorrow, you'll be able to Mega Evolve Pokémon, specifically Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise and Beedrill. To do this, you need to collect Mega Energy for each Pokémon. This is done by defeating Mega Raids and the faster you complete Mega Raid Battles, the more Energy you will receive.
Mega Raid Battles will appear soon featuring Mega Venusaur, Mega Charizard and Mega Blastoise and these will give the Mega Energy for each Pokémon. In doing so, Niantic are removing 2 Star and 4 Star raids from the Raid Table in order to include a focus for Mega Evolved Pokémon
Mega Evolution lasts only a limited time, but after you Mega Evolve a specific Pokémon for the first time, the cost to Mega Evolve it will reduce. When Mega Evolved, you can participate in Gyms, Raids, Trainer Battles and GO Rocket Battles. Shadow Pokémon and Clone Pokémon cannot Mega Evolve.
You'll be able to pick which Mega Charizard you wish to get when you Mega Evolve
If you use Mega Evolved Pokémon in Raid Battles, any moves of the same type as that Pokémon will get boosted
There will be a Mega Pokédex to keep track of Mega Evolved Pokémon
There will be Special Research as well as events throughout September that will focus on Mega Evolved Pokémon. An event from September 1st to 7th is focused around Mega Raids, September 11 to September 17 focused on Battles with Mega Evolutions and September 22nd through September 28th there will be events about Buddy features with Mega Evolution. First, the Research Breakthrough Reward has been announced. From September 1st 2020 at 201:00 UTC to October 1st 2020 at 20:00 UTC you'll get an Alolan Raichu
The 5 Star raid battles have been confirmed. Following Heatran on September 10th through September 18th, Cresselia returns. Then, for a week, Articuno will be available until September 25th and finally Zapdos will run from September 25th through to October 2nd
Jessie & James will leave on September 30th
Special Research, Investigate a Mysterious Energy, will be available at the end of September for players to get Victini. If players got Victini in the GO Fest then they will be rewarded with additional Victini Candy instead of another Victini encounter
On September 24th from 18:00 to 23:59 local time, a GO Battle Night event will be held. During this time, you'll receive twice the Stardust for winning battles andyou'll be able to complete 20 sets of GO Battle League Battles

Today a new game was announced in the Taiko no Tatsujin series for Nintendo Switch. This game, Taiko no Tatsujin Rhythmic Adventure Pack is an enhanced port of two 3DS Taiko no Tatsujin games from 2014 and 2016, never released outside of Japan, and are now confirmed to contain the following Pokémon songs in the Japanese version. Pokémon Masters has updated ahead of the anniversary events on Friday and has now upgraded to be Pokémon Masters EX. With this new Sync Pairs and features have been added. We're currently compiling all the relevant data so be sure to keep checking back
Alongside the new Sync Pairs, this update features an overhaul of the UI including new home menu, new menu for Single Player content and more
As of the update, Sync Pairs can be increased in level to Level 125 and Type Skills will be able to be improved using items found in a new Type Skill Area in the Training section

The ruleset for Series 6 of Ranked Battle has been announced. This ruleset continues the addition of a ban list. This ban list bans the Top 10 most used Pokémon from Series 5/Season 8 in July in both Singles and Doubles. This season will run from September 1st at 04:00 UTC to September 30th at 23:59 UTC with the ruleset running both this coming Season and the following one until October 31st 2020:
Pokémon Restrictions: Galar Pokédex, Isle of Armor Pokédex, Alola Starters, Cobalion, Terrakion, Virizion. Require Galar Mark or Battle Ready Mark

The Pokémon Company International have confirmed to us that the Pokémon Trading Card Game Raid Battles, announced last month, will be a physical format in game stores that run Play! Pokémon events. When stores resume regular opening and event times, players will be able to meet up and play with other trainers to try and defeat the Raid Boss and if they succeed, they will earn a special Promo Card. Niantic have announced a Makeup Event for Asia Pacific Regions, specifically for those in UTC+7 to UTC +14 regions. On Sunday August 23rd from 11am to 2pm local time, the Pokémon GO Fest Makeup Event will run again for GO Fest 2020 ticket holders in Asia Pacific Regions, going through the Fire, Water and then Friendship habitats each hour. A new version has started to go live for Pokémon GO on Android and iOS. This version is a gradual rollout and brings the game up to Version 0.185.0.This version has got various bug fixes and the new features of being able to swipe through Friend pages, a warning if you are about to enter a GO Rocket Battle with no Pokémon Space and a new option to refresh game data.
In addition to this, this patch has started adding the framework for more Mega Evolution mechanics which will feature in Raids and give Mega Candy, a candy that may be used to Mega Evolve a Pokémon. We'll bring full details as and when they come

Niantic have announced that some Timed Research will be available as a makeup event for Dragon Week. From August 21st 08:00 local time to August 26th 22:00 local time, all players will be able to get the Timed Research. The rewards will be the same as the Dragon Week Timed Research but the tasks will be slightly different. No additional or special spawns will be running during this time period. This is due to some time zones losing access to the research earlier than intended.

It has been confirmed that, during the Pokémon Players Cup Video Game Championship finals this weekend, August 22nd and 23rd, a special Shared Serial Code will be available for players to redeem. This code will get players a competitive Porygon2 trained to be good in Trick Room. It is Sassy, comes with an Eviolite and has the moves Recover, Trick Room, Ice Beam and Thunderbolt. Niantic have confirmed some new details for the upcoming Pokémon GO Community Day. It'll be decided by vote which will be cased from 01:00 UTC August 23rd to 01:00 UTC August 24th on the official Twitter. The winner will be available in the Community Day on September 20th and the 2nd place on October 17th. The options are:
Charmander - Evolve Charmeleon to Charizard for Dragon Breath
Caterpie - Evolve Metapod to Butterfree for Hurricane
Grimer - Evolve Grimer/Alolan Grimer to Much/Alolan Muk to get Fire Punch. Alolan Grimer would appear in Raids during the event

This Amoonguss matches the Amoonguss used by World Champion Senior Top 4 player Baik Jongyoon in the 2019 World Championships. It has the moves Clear Smog, Spore, Protect and Rage Powder and comes at Level 50. It comes with max IVs in all but Attack and Speed and is EV trainer. This is obtained with the code: TRA1NERSCUP. In the new opening for the anime in Japan, it has been confirmed that Kiawe, Sophocles, Mallow and Lana, supporting cast in the Pokémon Sun & Moon anime will make appearances in the new series soon. This marks the first return of any previous supporting cast in Pokémon Journeys and the first returning ones aside from Brock & Misty since Dawn appeared in Pokémon Black & White. Today marks the Pokémon GO Community Day. On this day, for six hours in each region, Magikarp will appear, enmass, in Pokémon GO with a chance of Shiny Magikarp appearing. During this event, when you evolve Magikarp into Gyarados, it will know the move Aqua Tail, which is exclusive to this event. This coincides with 3* Catch Stardust and 3 hour Incense. In Japan, prebooking of tickets for the movie, Pokémon the Movie Coco, is now open and with that, serial codes are now being given for Shiny Celebi and Zarude, with Zarude now being available for players. Tickets can be purchased until December 24th 2020 and the serial codes can be redeemed until March 31st 2021. You can also redeem multiple codes for each save file. Our Event Database has full details for these events
If you have Zarude and take it to the person in the Isle of Armor station, you'll also be able to get the special Partner Cap, a hat based on Ash's hat from the movies

The Enigma Week event has begun in Pokémon GO. From now until 20:00 UTC on August 14th, mysterious Pokémon will be in the wild and more in raids, adding Elgyem & Beheeyem to the game. The seventh and final episode of the Pokémon Twilight Wings web anime series is now live. A special livestream has aired and has showcased the latest information for Pokémon the Movie Coco. This information includes the latest trailer. This trailer starts off with Ash in a lab talking to his mother before hanging up and going to the jungle. Coco is seen swinging across a jungle scene. It then cuts to Ash showing Coco the local town. Later, the jungle gets attacked and Coco & Zarude defend it. It will be released on December 25th 2020
The opening theme is by Tortoise Matsumoto & Taiiku Okazaki and is called "Really Mysterious Creatures"

The Pokémon Company have announced a new event coming to Korea. On August 9th, the official Korean site will post a code for a Shiny Amoonguss. This Amoonguss matches the Amoonguss used by World Champion Senior Top 4 player Baik Jongyoon in the 2019 World Championships. It has the moves Clear Smog, Spore, Protect and Rage Powder and comes at Level 50. Our Event Database has been updated with details of this event

Niantic have confirmed that the new PokéCoin system in Pokémon GO is now being tested in Germany, New Zealand and Taiwan in addition to Australia. This system drops the amount of coins each player obtains from gyms from 50 down to 30 but allows for 20 coins to be done through various tasks including Winning Raids, Evolving a Pokémon and more with a new Team GO Rocket Mission involved

The seventh season of Pokémon Sword & Shield's Ranked Battle has come to an end and with it, the rewards for participation in battles is now live. To get them, you need to check your ranking in the Ranked Battle mode and then go to Mystery Gift > Receive via Battle Stadium.
