The Dragon-type was introduced in Pokémon Red & Green in 1996. At present, there are 90 different Pokémon, including unique forms and Mega Evolutions, that share this type and 30 different moves with it.

The Dragon-type has been in the Pokémon Trading Card Game since the Base set and has been signified by the Colorless type, until the Dragons Exalted set where it was changed to the unique type. It is the only non-Colorless type to lack a Basic Energy
