Niantic have announced the next Pokémon GO events for March 2020.
First, the Research Breakthrough Reward has been announced. From March 1st 2020 at 21:00 UTC to April 1st 2020 at 20:00 UTC you'll get a Ferroseed which gives more stardust
Next it has been confirmed that facing Giovanni in March will result in Shadow Entei being available
There will be three special Raid Weekends. Darkrai Raid Weekend will run from March 6th to March 9th, where you'll be able to find shiny Darkrai. Altered Forme Giratina will run the following weekend, March 13th to March 16th, Cobalion March 20th to March 23rd with Shiny Cobalion and the special move Sacred Sword and Lugia March 27th to March 30th knowing the special attack Aeroblast
A Weekend event will run from March 20th to March 23rd. Normal, Fire, Water, Electric and ice-types will appear more in the wild with Nincada, Karrablast and Shelmet appearing more in 5km eggs. Nincada can also be Shiny. This weekend event will also be accompanied by a brand-new Special Research story event!
A Global Takeover from Team GO Rocket will run from March 6th at 08:00 local time to March 9th at 22:00 local time. Poison and Dark-types will appear more in the wild, including Absol. Skorupi will be available from then. All Team GO Rocket Leader Shadow Pokémon will be available ovver the weekend.
A Psychic Spectacular will run from March 27th 08:00 local time to March 30th 22:00 local time. It includes the release of Solosis and Gothita in Pokémon GO available in the wild and 5km eggs. Solosis will appear in the day while Gothita at night. Abra, Drowzee, Ralts, Spoink, Baltoy, Wynaut, Beldum, Gothita, and Solosis will appear in 2km eggs and Shiny Baltoy will be available.
Thundurus will appear in Raid Battles from March 2nd 2020 with no set end date

Battles for the 2020 International Challenge February online competition are now live. This competition, 2020 International Challenge February, is a Double Battle competition runs VGC Rules. Download Rules are also now available for this competition.
Battles will run from February 28th 00:00 UTC to March 1st 23:59 UTC. All players get a special Casual Tee (Poké Ball Guy). Players on the Play! Pokémon Circuit can earn up to 50 CP towards their Worlds Invite.

Niantic have announced that the Pokémon GO Raid Day due to run on Sunday is now to be cancelled in the regions of Japan, South Korea and Italy due to the current public health concerns happening globally. The next Story Event is live in Pokémon Masters. This is the Shining Star event and focuses on the Sync Pair of Elesa & Rotom. This Story Event introduces the new feature of an Event Map which has you decide a path to get to the main stages using Travel Tokens.

The trailer for Pokémon the Movie Coco has aired on Japanese variety show, Oha Suta. This trailer showcases a Shiny Celebi flying in the forest. Later on, it shows Ash meeting the boy in the forest who says his name is Coco. The trailer shows Coco living with the Pokémon in the forest but before too long, the forest is under attack and Coco falls off a cliff, to be saved by a Zarude who raised Coco.

The Wild Area Event has shifted in conjunction with Pokémon Day. From now until March 1st at 23:59 UTC, across Pokémon's birthday, Mewtwo and the Kanto starters will be appearing in Max Raid Battles alongside Gigantamax Grimmsnarl, Kingler, Hatterene, Orbeetle and Toxtricity. Mewtwo cannot be captured but gives great rewards for beating

Pokémon Masters has put out some news to celebrate Pokémon Day. To start, from tomorrow, 3,000 Gems will be distributed to each player as a special gift to celebrate Pokémon Day. Alongside that, Red & Charizard are to be added to the game in a Poké Fair exclusive Scout.
Story events will now include Event Maps to help you progress through them. You make your way through it by using Travel Tokens obtained via battles. More areas and rewards will be added as you progres
Over 10,000 Gems will be given from log-in bonuses to players during the event
The Battle Villa, which opens tomorrow, will introduce Lucky Skills, new skills to be added to Sync Pairs by using the Lucky Cookie & Lucky Scroll items. The Battle Villa has you create a roster of up to 9 Sync Pairs to go through the Battle Stages, with HP and Move Points carrying over to each battle. It will reset at periodic intervals
Later on, there will be more improvements to Legendary Events and the Sync Grid, as well as the addition of Pokémon Eggs

The movie, Mewtwo Strikes Back EVOLUTION is now available to watch on Netflix globally (except Japan and South Korea). This movie is a 3D remake of the original movie with some changes and was released in theatres in Japan last july. This movie can also be watched with the original Japanese voices, a first for international Pokémon movies

It has been confirmed that Pokémon Shirts, the line of shirts based around Pokémon, are to add 20 new designs. These designs are based around 20 of the Johto Pokémon. They will go on presale at 23:00 UTC tonight, February 27th 2020 for the weekend.
The other 80 Pokémon will have designs released later with their designs being revealed starting next month.

The Pokémon Day 2020 event is now live in Pokémon GO. To celebrate Pokémon's 24th anniversary, from now until March 2nd at 21:00 UTC, Pikachu and Eevee in Party Hats will spawn in the wild. In 7km eggs and 1 Star raids, you'll find Party Hat Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle all of which can be shiny.
In addition to that, to celebrate the international release of the movie Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution on Netflix on Thursday, various Pokémon from the movie and their pre-evolutions will spawn in the wild in greater numbers, Clone Pikachu will appear in GO Snapshots as a photobomb while Clone Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise can be found in 4 Star Raids. Finally, Armored Mewtwo returns as a Level 5 Raid Boss with the new move of Psystrike.
Finally, you will also be able to do 2 Special Trades a day

Various Japanese retailers have started listing details for upcoming sets of cards in Japan
The first set is called World Down and will release in Japan on June 5th 2020. This set has over 100 cards in and is focused around Eternatus' Eternamax form and provides a Dark-type Eternatus VMAX card.
The second set, the subset S3a, is called Legend's Heartbeats and will release in Japan on July 10th 2020, the same day as the movie Pokémon the Movie Coco and focuses on the Pokémon Celebi. It contains over 70 cards including a new card rarity called "Amazing Rare" which are powerful cards but you only take 1 Prize card when you defeat them

Today marks the Pokémon GO Community Day. On this day, for three hours in each region, Rhyhorn will appear, enmass, in Pokémon GO with a chance of Shiny Rhyhorn appearing. During this event, when you evolve Rhydon into Rhyperior, it will know the move Rock Wrecker, which is exclusive to this event. This can be done for a further 2 hours after the event. This coincides with 3* Capture Stardust and 3 hour Lure Modules. This runs at these times:

During this maintenance, they will fix a bug that existed where, before 09:00 UTC on February 12th, if you transferred Hyper Trained Pokémon from Bank into HOME, they would have lost their Hyper Training. If you have a Pokémon such as that, if you return them to HOME for the duration of the maintenance, the Hyper Training will be restored

Niantic have announced further details for the Pokémon GO Safari Zone in Philadelphia. This Safari Zone runs from May 8th through May 10th. This event focuses on Red, White & Blue Pokémon with Voltorb, Alolan Sandshrew, Unown P, Bronzor, Rufflet, and more spawning in the park and Mr. Mime as the Regional. Shiny Voltorb will be available with this event. This event also has a City Explorer Pass where there will be 10 72 hour timer raids across the city. Three feature Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres, one features Braviary, two more ferature the Legendary and EX Pokémon running at tjhat time and the other four raids are just standard raids. It'll also have exclusive Field Research, 50% Egg distance, 1 hour incense distance and Lure Modules lasting 4 hours.

We may have been able to determine a way to get around the potential glitch that may be preventing Original Color Magearna appearing as a gift in Pokémon HOME. If you meet the criterea of having a complete National Pokédex in HOME and it doesn't appear, you can make it appear by first shifting every Pokémon in each box 1 box to the left on the Switch version, check for gifts on the Mobile version and, if it's not there, move them back 1 box to the right on the Switch and check the gifts in the App. This seems to only work if you have a full Living Pokédex: All 890 Pokémon in HOME. In our tests, we have managed to get the Magearna but this is obviously a quickfix. We're still hoping for a full fix and will post when we get further news

Pokémon HOME has received another update on iOS and Android bringing the app to Version 1.0.6. This version fixes a few more bugs with people being unable to enter the game and a bug causing issues when Nintendo Account details are put on through FaceID and other automatic methods, but in addition to that, the game now automatically filters out GTS trades where the trader is requesting a Mythical Pokémon as Mythical Pokémon cannot be traded at present

A strange event has begun in Pokémon GO. From now until an unspecific time, all 7km Eggs hatched will contain Fossil Pokémon: Omanyte, Kabuto, Aerodactyl, Lileep, Anorith, Cranidos, Shieldon, Tirtouga, and Archen. These Pokémon will no longer hatch from any kind of egg. Riolu is also now once again hatching from 10km eggs

At 23:59 UTC today, Milcery will leave the event Raid spawns and you'll no longer be able to get Milcery that can evolve into any flavour and style of Gigantamax Alcremie. Alongside this, it is presently the only way to get the Star Sweet and Ribbon Sweets to evolve Alcremie into flavours with those decorations. Gigantamax Kingler, Grimmsnarl, Orbeetle, Hatterene and Toxtricity will continue on past this until March 9th 2020

Since Pokémon HOME was released, there were many conflicting reports of a gift when you complete the National Pokédex with many not receiving any and others receiving glitched ones with the wrong moves. Over the last day, more people have been reporting receving a new gift. This gift is of an Original Color Magearna, a form of Magearna based on its look hundreds of years ago, previously only seen in Pokémon the Movie Volcanion & The Mechanical Marvel. At present, the gift isn't being given to all people with a completed Pokédex and appears to be a staggered launch. Due to the strange activity with it, we're currently investigating and are trying to get further details so be sure to keep checking back

The Pokémon Company International have put out some details for the upcoming Series 3 of Ranked Battle which starts March 1st. Alongside the currently usable Pokémon, all Regional Variants including Alolan Forms and Original Forms will be usable. In addition to that, the Kanto and Alola Starter Pokémon and their evolutions will also be usable

Niantic have detailed the Raid Battles that you'll face if you get the Safari Zone Liverpool City Explorer Pass. Accross the city of Liverpool there will be 10 raids at iconic points in the city. They will be:
Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres in 3 5-Star Raids
Lanturn, the evolution of the Safari Zone's focus Pokémon will be in a 2 Star Raid
The Legendary and EX Pokémon that are running at the time of the event will be in another 2 spots
The rest of the spots will feature a 1 Star, 2 Star, 3 Star and 4 Star Raid

This Serial Code will give you an item which can be used to activate a Max Raid Battle in the Watchtower Ruins. This code will give players the ability to battle a Gigantamax Corviknight. At present it's currently unclear if the Corviknight will have anything special or unqiue. This issue is due for release on March 14th 2020

Edit: At present, Hyper Training doesn't transfer over from Bank to HOME. It's currently unclear why as the data indicates it's meant to.

Niantic have announced another level of tickets for Pokémon GO Safari Zone Liverpool, a City Explorer Pass. This will be Ł8 and will only be purchasable alongside a Safari Zone ticket.. With this pass, there will be 10 special Raids with 72 hour timers across Liverpool, 50% Egg Hatch Distance, Unique Field Research, Lure Modules last 4 hours and increased incense duration. Ahead of the launch of Pokémon HOME later this month, we have upgraded the Pokémon Sword & Shield Pokédex to display moves that Pokémon can use that they natively can't in Sword & Shield but can if they have been transferred through Pokémon HOME from previous generations. This includes TMs from Virtual Console games, Let's Go, Level Up Moves, long lost Egg Moves, Move Tutors and more. This also automatically removes any move which cannot be used in Sword & Shield such as Hidden Power or Frustration
Unlike previous games, due to the sheer volume of moves that get listed for many Pokémon, the table itself is now hidden behind a clickable link to prevent the page getting completely cluttered. Click the link in the table and the rest of the table will automatically appear.

Pokémon HOME
Some impressions for Pokémon HOME have been released by Japanese media such as Inside Games and Game Watch. With this, we have received some new Pre-Release Screenshots as well as further information. First, the game is listed by some as coming "Mid-February", others as just February.
As seen before, the game has boxes, specifically 200 boxes of storage in the Premium Subscription and transfer between the main games can be done by dragging and dropping. You also have the ability to search your boxes based on various criterea and order. Eggs cannot be placed in Pokémon HOME and Pokémon from Let's Go Pikachu/Let's Go Eevee only gain their data such as abilities when transferred into Sword & Shield.
The GTS will allow you to see from where the Pokémon originates. If it has been put in from Bank, Let's Go or Sword/Shield.
The mobile version lets you see the 3D Models, rotate them and so forth
The National Pokédex is separated by region so you can look at all Pokémon at once, or get a list of all Kanto Pokémon, Johto Pokémon etc.
According to 4Gamer, If you have multiple user accounts on the same Nintendo Switch, you have the ability to access the different save files in one copy of HOME as long as they are on the same Switch, but we are currently hunting for further clarification on this.

Pokémon Sword & Shield
The Wild Area Event has now shifted in Pokémon Sword & Shield. With this, Lapras, Appletun, Flapple & Coalossal have left the boosted raids while Milcery remains. However, joining it is Gigantamax Toxtricity with Amped Form being available in Sword and Low Key Form being available in Shield. This is the only way to get Gigantamax Toxtricity in the game. It also features Gigantamax Kingler & Gigantamax Grimmasnarl in Pokémon Sword and Gigantamax Orbeetle & Gigantamax Hatterene in Pokémon Shield
Milcery will continue in the Max Raid Battles until February 16th at 23:59 UTC. Toxtricity and the others will be in Max Raid Battles until March 8th at 23:59 UTC

The latest news for Pokémon Sword & Shield has been released. It has confirmed that Gigantamax Toxtricity will be available in Raid Battles from 00:00 UTC on February 7th until March 9th 2020. Amped Form will be exclusive to Sword and Low Key Form will be exclusive to Shield. This Gigantamax Variant has not been available before now

The next online competition has been announced. This competition, 2020 International Challenge February, is a Double Battle competition runs VGC Rules. Download Rules are also now available for this competition.
Registration is open from February 19 07:00 UTC to February 27th 23:59 UTC. Battles will run from February 28th 00:00 UTC to March 1st 23:59 UTC. All players get a special Casual Tee (Poké Ball Guy). Players on the Play! Pokémon Circuit can earn up to 50 CP towards their Worlds Invite. Players wanting to earn CP need to connect their Nintendo Account to their Pokémon Trainer Club account on the official site

Niantic have announced the next Pokémon GO event. This is the Pokémon Day event and features Eevee and Pikachu wearing Party Hats in the wild, Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle with Party Hats in 7km eggs. Armored Mewtwo returning to raids now with the move Psystrike, and Clone Pokémon—including Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise in four star raids and Clone Pikachu appearing in GO Snapshot. Two special trades a day for plays. Runs from Feb 25th at 21:00 UTC to March 2nd at 21:00 UTC.
There is also a Raid Day featuring Nidorino and Gengar wearing Party Hats on March 1st 2020. Both can be shiny. Gengar comes with Lick and Psychic.

The Japanese Pokémon HOME FAQ has updated with some further clarifications about Pokémon HOME.
First, you don't need a Nintendo Account to run the mobile version of the app. You can connect it to your account at any time. Without a Nintendo Account connected, you won't be able to share data with the Nintendo Switch version, transfer from Pokémon Bank using the Nintendo Network ID method (Premium Subscriptions only), checking Nintendo Switch Battle Data or transferring the Pokémon HOME data to another phone.
Some further clarifications were given as to what happens when your subscription lapses. The game itself has a Free Box, this box allows for you to transfer from Let's Go, Sword & Shield or receive Mystery Gifts without the Premium Plan, and then it has more boxes for the Premium Plan users. If your plan lapses and you have space in the Free Box, you will not be able to move Pokémon from Premium Boxes until you have renewed your Premium Subscription.

The Pokémon Company's Pokémon of the Year promotion is live. If you search for Pokémon or Pokémon of the Year on Google, you will be able to put in a vote for your favourite Pokémon. This is separated into 8 categories, based upon region of Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola and "Galar etc.", with Meltan and Melmetal being the etc. with Galar. Each day until 13:59 UTC on February 14th you can vote for a Pokémon in each category. The winner will be revealed on Pokémon Day

Following the voting that ran on Saturday, Niantic have announced the next Pokémon GO Community Day on February 22nd will focus on Rhyhorn. This event will have 3* Capture Stardust 3 Hour Lure Modules. However, it will also give out the move Rock Wrecker to Rhyperior upon evolution. We'll bring more details as they come.
The Community Day runs at 11am to 2pm in each local time zone in the Northern Hemisphere and 3pm to 6pm in each local time zone in the Southern Hemisphere

Now, when you challenge Team GO Rocket Grunts at PokéStops, there's a chance they'll have Shadow Pokémon like Vulpix, Ninetales, Exeggcute, Exeggutor, Omanyte, Omastar, Misdreavus, Carvanha, and Sharpedo on their team. Team GO Rocket Leaders might have Pinsir, Mawile, and Beldum in their teams as Shadow Pokémon as well.

The first Series of Pokémon Sword & Shield's Ranked Battle has come to an end and with it, the rewards for participation in battles is now live. To get them, you need to check your ranking in the Ranked Battle mode and then go to Mystery Gift > Receive via Battle Stadium.
