The next Story Event is live in Pokémon Masters. This is the Team Skull Crash Course event and focuses on the Sync Pairs of Guzma & Golisopod and Plumeria & Salazzle. This Story Event continues the new feature of an Event Map which has you decide a path to get to the main stages using Travel Tokens.
A standard Sync Pair Scout featuring Guzma & Golisopod & Plumeria & Salazzle is also running until April 14th
150 Gems are also being given to each player to tie in with this event
There's also a new Bingo Panel for the Battle Villa which runs until April 14th giving various rewards based on your completion in the villa

The most notable feature is you now have the ability to create a team of 9 Sync Pairs and tackle the Co-Op Battle stages on your own. Only the center Sync Pair can be controlled and will gain experience during this. EX Challenges cannot be done in this way

Niantic have detailed for how long the current measures to GO Battle League will last. These measures have been put in place due to the current global health concerns.
First, the ability to play GO Battle League without paying coins or walking is to run until April 13th 2020

The Genesect Weekend event in Pokémon GO is starting to roll out. This event runs from March 20th at 08:00 local time until March 23rd at 22:00 local time and features an increase in Normal, Fire, Electric, Water & Ice-type Pokémon spawns, the introduction of Shiny Nincada and double catch and hatch Stardust.
This event runs alongside the A Drive To Investigate Ticketed Event which adds unique Special Research which results in getting Genesect. This needs to be accessed by March 26th but can be completed at any time after it has been started. We're currently cataloguing all elements of this research

Some new updates have gone live for Nintendo Switch Pokémon software. First Pokémon Sword & Shield has received a new update bringing the game to Version 1.1.1. This update provides various undisclosed bug fixes including one which causes the game to crash if someone sends you a hacked Pokémon. We're currently working out what it fixes
Next, Pokémon HOME has updated to Version 1.0.1, also fixing various undisclosed issues
Finally Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX has been updated to Version 1.0.2, fixing an error that causes the game to have problems when you dismiss Pokémon after your first two Pokémon have fainted

It has been confirmed that, due to the current global public health concerns, the Pokémon GO Safari Zone in Liverpool next month and Philadelphia in May are to be postponed indefinitely. Players will be able to request a refund before April 15th for Liverpool and May 6th for Philadelphia. If you don't get a refund, you will get Safari Zone encounter and Special Research globally during the event hours. They are currently looking at later dates for the event.
Edit @ 18:31: It is confirmed that players who purchased a Safari Zone City Explorer Pass will have increased Lure and Incense duration and reduced Egg Hatch Distance will be active during both original and rescheduled event weekends

Today, we are covering a Pokémon introduced in the fourth generation. It secretes a purple fluid to deter enemies. This fluid isn't poisonous—instead, it's super sticky, and once it sticks, it's very hard to unstick. Its body is covered in a sticky slime. It's very susceptible to dehydration, so it can't spend too much time on land. Its search for food sometimes leads it onto land, where it leaves behind a sticky trail of slime as it passes through. GO Battle League Season 1 has finally begun. From now until May 1st 2020, you'll be able to battle to get yourself up to Rank 10 and with this come various rewards. First Rufflet and Braviary are now available as rewards once you reach Rank 7 and Pikachu Libre will start to appear at Rank 10 as a guarantee and players who get to Rank 10 will unlock an outfit and pose based on Hoenn Champion Steven Stone. We're currently compiling all rewards on our special Season 1 page. Great League (March 13th - March 27th)

Pokémon Masters has put out some further details on future updates to the game.
First, they'll be updating Legendary Events again to reduce the number of replays required to get important items and adjusting rewards
Next, they're going to alter the Sync Grid system and are planning for future updates
They are going to start adding more difficult battles. The first are Legendary Arena where you have to battle against Legendary Pkémon. This lets you use many sync pairs and have the attack pattern change when the HP is lowered. This is to debut in the summer and they recommend powering up Water-type Sync Pairs
They're going to make content basd on the Elite Four and Champions
There will be more medals and achievements given in the future.
As seen in the trailer on Pokémon Day, they'll be adding Pokémon Eggs. This will let you be able to choose more Pokémon to team with your Player Character
They're working on a feature that will give you some boosts based on your team composition such as only trainers from Kanto or only Water-types

This Special Research is a ticketed event that will run from March 20th at 08:00 local time to March 26th at 22:00 local time. However, once you start the research, you can finish it at any time
This Research adds the first encounter with Genesect, a special medal, Research which includes Pinsir, Scizor, Skarmory, Karrablast, and Shelmet as well as Durant. A special Genesect set of items and 5 Premium Battle Passes, 3 Super Incubators, 3 Charged TMs, 3 Fast TMs, 3 Incense, 3 Star Pieces, 1 Poffin, 15 Rare Candies, and 1 Glacial Lure. The tickets cost $7.99.
Following this event, Genesect will start to appear in EX Raids in April

In addition to that, you'll receive a Premium Battle Pass when you win all 5 battles in a set on the Premium Track. It can be Shiny and has the move Secret Sword. This runs from March 20th through March 23rd in the rest of the world.
From March 25th through March 31st, Lugia will enter Raid Battles in these regions. It has the move Aeroblast. This runs from March 25th through March 31st in the rest of the world.
From March 27th, the Psychic Spectacular event will run as scheduled

When this Pokémon sounds as if it's strumming a guitar, it's actually clawing at the protrusions on its chest to generate electricity. This short-tempered and aggressive Pokémon chugs stagnant water to absorb any toxins it might contain. Capable of generating 15,000 volts of electricity, this Pokémon looks down on all that would challenge it. It has an electrical organ on its chest. The next online competition has been announced. This competition, 2020 International Challenge April, is a Double Battle competition runs VGC Rules. Download Rules are also now available for this competition.
Registration is open from March 26th 05:00 UTC to April 9th 23:59 UTC. Battles will run from April 10th 00:00 UTC to April 12th 23:59 UTC. All players get a special Casual Tee (Great Ball Guy). Players on the Play! Pokémon Circuit can earn up to 50 CP towards their Worlds Invite. Players wanting to earn CP need to connect their Nintendo Account to their Pokémon Trainer Club account on the official site

Pokémon Masters - Lurking Shadow

The next events have started in Pokémon Masters. The first is the Lurking Shadow event which brings back the Sync Pair of Giovanni & Mewtwo. It runs until March 16th.
Next there is a new Electric-type Training Event which lets you boost your Electric-type Pokémon and unlocks the Sync Grid for Hau & Raichu
Finally there is a new Spotlight Scout focused on Grimsley and Karen

It has been confirmed that the 2020 European International Championships, which were due to run next month, have been cancelled due to the current global public health concerns. There's currently no plans to postpone or cancel the North American or the World Championships but may change based on World Health Organisation advise

Some new episode titles for the upcoming anime series have been released through Japanese TV Guides. These episodes are set to air on March 22nd, 29th and April 5th respectively. The first episode features Ash go against an Electric-type trainer in Vermilion City Gym to prepare for the World Championships. The second features Team Rocket finding a Ditto that ran away from a movie studio and the final episode features Lugia appearing before Ash & Co. as they lead a Pokémon Orienteering event

Niantic have announced that Pokémon GO Battle League Season 1 will begin on March 13th at 20:00 UTC. This will allow for you to fully participate in the first league.
From 21:00 UTC today until then, all three leagues are available to play in the Preseason.
From March 10th 08:00 Local to March 12th 22:00 local, strong Pokémon including Skarmory, Swampert, Shieldon will appear in Raids, as well as Registeel and Cresselia. You'll gain double stardust from Raid Battles and Trainer Battles.
When the League starts as part of a special celebration from March 13th at 08:00 Local Time to March 16h 22:00 Local Time, you'll receive a Premium Battle Pass when you win all 5 battles in a set on the Premium Track. You can have 7 sets of GO Battle League battles a day. Timburr will also start being available Shiny and Fighting-type Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild
When the League starts, you'll receive increased rewards. Ranks 2 and 3 require more wins to progress. At Rank 1, Metagross will be your first guaranteed encounter with Beldum added at Rank 4 and Rufflet at Rank 7. Pikachu Libre will appear when you reach Rank 10. In the future it will be available at lower ranks.
If you reach Rank 10 you will earn pose and avatar items based on Steven Stone, the Champion of the Hoenn Region.
If you reach Rank 7, you will get an Elite Charge TM which lets you select the move you learn including Community Day moves.
Season 1 runs as follows:
The Great League will run from Friday, March 13, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. to Friday, March 27, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT -7).
The Ultra League will run from Friday, March 27, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. to Friday, April 10, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT -7).
The Master League will run from Friday, April 10, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. to Friday, April 24, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT -7).
All three leagues will be available from Friday, April 24, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. to Friday, May 1, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT -7).
Season 2 will begin Friday, May 1, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT -7).

This event runs from March 6th at 08:00 local time until March 9th at 22:00 local time and features increased spawns of Poison and Dark-type Pokémon as well as Shiny Skorupi now being available. In addition to this, Darkrai will be in raids for the duration of the event and can also be shiny capable

Niantic have announced the next Pokémon GO Community Day on March 15th will focus on Abra. This event will 3* Capture Experience and has 3 Hour Lure Modules. However, it will also give out an as of yet unannounced special move to Alakazam. We'll bring more details as they come.
The Community Day runs at 11am to 2pm in each local time zone in the Northern Hemisphere and 3pm to 6pm in the Southern Hemisphere. It will not run in Japan, Korea and Italy due to current public health concerns.
Edit @ 18:35: A special Community Day Pass for Special Research: Investigating Illusions will go live ahead of Abra Community Day. Costs $0.99 and provides rewards including 13,000 Stardust, A Rocket Radar, Poffin, 3 Incense and more

Some maintenance has been announced for Pokémon HOME. On March 6th at 01:30 UTC to 08:00 UTC, the service will be inoperable. During this maintenance, they will fix a bug that if people completed the Pokédex before February 14th and received the glitch Magearna, they will now be eligible for the Original Color Magearna and it'll arrive in their Gift Box after the maintenance. Following that, in a future update, they will fix the problem where the Pokédex will not register as complete even if it is, and thus prevents people from receiving the Original Color Magearna glitch.

It has been confirmed that the Legendary Event, Lurking Shadow, which introduced the Sync Pair of Giovanni & Mewtwo will have a new run on March 6th at 06:00 UTC. This run will include rewards more in line with the recent Legendary Events following the feedback from its first run

The new event has started in Pokémon Rumble Rush. This event, Ho-Oh & 151 Pals, is focused on an island based around Ho-Oh and contains various new Pokémon, all Kanto Pokémon, new Gears and more. It runs for two weeks, until March 25th. As such, we're currently compiling everything about this new event and so this update and our Rumble Rush section will be updated with details over the coming days
Updated Location Listings with further details of Bulbasaur Sea
This update also includes the new Battle Royale feature and Poké Glam, new decorations for your Pokémon. There is also now a 0.25% chance with each stage that instead of the usual boss, you will get a Rare Pokémon. We're currently compiling all data for these features so be sure to keep checking back.

Niantic have detailed the upcoming March events for Japan, Korea and Italy as they currently have restrictions due to the public health concerns
March Community Day is postponed.
Spotlight Hour, Raid Hour and Raid Weekends will not run.
From March 3th through March 19th, Incense will last twice as long and have increased Pokémon spawns. Incense will also have a price reduction to 50%
GO Battle League will require no distance walked and no Poké Coins to play and Rare Candy will be more common. Pokémon like Scraggy and even Legendary Pokémon will appear as rewards
Darkrai will be in a GO Battle League Reward from March 6th 08:00 local to March 9th 22:00 local time including Shiny Darkrai
Giratina will be in a GO Battle League Reward from March 13th 08:00 local to March 16th 22:00 local time including Shiny Giratina
In other times, Thundurus will also be available in GO Battle League

Some changes have gone live with Shadow Pokémon in Pokémon GO. First, Shadow Pokémon have got an Attack Boost known as Shadow Bonus of 20% on each of their Attacks. However, in conjunction with this, they also have a 17% reduction in defenses so receive more damage
In addition to that, the Stardust and Candy required to Power Up Shadow Pokémon has been reduced from 3 times the standard amount to only 20% and the third move cost has also been reduced

The second series of Pokémon Sword & Shield's Ranked Battle has come to an end and with it, the rewards for participation in battles is now live. To get them, you need to check your ranking in the Ranked Battle mode and then go to Mystery Gift > Receive via Battle Stadium. These rewards include BP and items range from nature mints up to Bottle Caps depending upon your placement. We have full details of the rewards in our Ranked Battle section
