Day & Night Cycle

Following on from Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and as a departure from prior Pokémon games, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet doesn't use a realtime clock specifically but instead has its own day/night cycle which is slightly tied to the in-game clock and is based on when you turn your game on. Pausing with the home menu will often pause the timer but it will catch up.

This cycle lasts 72 minutes and all effects in the game are tied to it. While some in-game elements are tied to the real-time clock such as Raid and Mass Outbreak resets, the majority of them are tied to this in-game cycle.

The time cycle doesn't alter much but does change certain spawns of Pokémon, as well as some evolutions only being available at those specific times. The Porto Marinada Auctions also refresh at sunrise each day

Unlike Pokémon Legends: Arceus, however, there is no way of forcing the time forwards to the next morning, day or night.

With the Teal Mask DLC, the time runs on a different time zone so frequently while it is Day in Paldea, it would be Night in Kitakami.
