As the Pokémon games have progressed, many Pokémon have gained forms and in doing so, they need you to get a special item or go to a special location in order to be able to change the form which has changed from previous games. These list features that have changed from the usual form change. Any other form changes through items are done through items obtained from the Auctions in Porto Marinada

After many generations of not being available in the wild, Deerling and Sawsbuck return to Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. These Pokémon have their forms based on the location you catch them in, but like with their original appearances, they do change their form If Deerling or Sawsbuck are in your party when you boot your game up, their form will change to match the location you currently are in. If they remain in your box, they will not change form. They will also not change form when removed from the Box into your party. It only changes when you boot the game up
