Pokémon Backgrounds

Introduced in Pokémon GO Tour - Hoenn, Pokémon Backgrounds are special backdrops on your Pokémon summary screen that show where a Pokémon was caught, showcasing a postcard of the event. These backgrounds appear randomly when you obtain them in the events without necessarily a guarantee.

There are two kinds of these backgrounds. First are Location Backgrounds. These showcase a photo of the area an event was held in. The second are Special Backgrounds which appear globally and have specific themes such as Ultra Beasts.

These backgrounds are purely cosmetic but can be searched for when in your Pokémon screen and you will get a query if you are about to transfer a Pokémon with them.
