Other Version Exclusives

Previous Pokémon games had several differences between the two versions. In all games there were different Pokémon in different locations and Ruby & Sapphire took it further by having a different storyline between the games and Black & White took it further to take areas and battles to be different. Pokémon Sword & Shield continues this by including more variations. This page will detail all the non-Pokémon Version Exclusives.

Gyms

One change for Version Exclusives in Pokémon Sword & Shield is the inclusion of Pokémon Gyms of different types with different leaders depending on your version.
Pokémon Sword includes the Fighting-type Gym Leader Bea and the Rock-type Gym Leader Gordie
Pokémon Shield includes the Ghost-type Gym Leader Allister and the Ice-type Gym Leader Melony

Items

Another exclusive is with the items. There are some items that are completely exclusive to the games which need to be traded over while a few items that are far more common in each game. With the fossils, you can only find the "less common" ones through the Rewards Orientated Digging Duo brother

Max Raid Battle Rewards

In addition to certain Max Raid Battles being exclusive to Sword and some being exclusive to Shield, there's also a change to the rewards for Raids that would be the same. For example, the Lucario Raid in Den 48 will give TR53, TR39, TR21 and TR56 in Pokémon Sword but TR64, TR47, TR07 and TR99 in Pokémon Shield.
