Niantic have announced the next Pokémon GO event. This event is the Lunar New Year event and is due to run from February 1st at 10:00 to February 7th at 20:00 local time and introduces Shiny Litleo into the game
Paras, Meowth, Growlithe, Voltorb, Hisuian Voltorb, Magikarp, Torchic, Litleo, Electabuzz, Gyarados and Combusken will be in the wild
Magikarp, Shinx, Darumaka, Litleo, Espurr will be in 1 star raids
Charizard, Flareon, Shuckle, Delcatty, Absol, Druddigon will be in 3 star raids
Shuckle, Slugma, Darumaka, Scraggy and Litleo will be in 7km Eggs
Alolan Meowth, Galarian Meowth, Magikarp, Darumaka, Litleo, Espurr and Mega Gyarados Energy will be in Field Research
There will be Timed Research focusing on catching and friendship with rewards of Litleo and Espurr
There is increased chance of Lucky Friends and Lucky Pokémon, an extra special trade a day and a double stardust from opening Gifts

The Sweet Shenanigans Event has begun in Pokémon Masters EX. This event is a Story Event focused around Marnie & Bea celebrating Palentine's Day in Pasio. It runs alongside a Seasonal Scout adding the sync pair of Marnie & Mawile. It runs unil February 19th 2022.

From January 30th 2022 at 10;00 local time, Hisuian Voltorb will start appearing with Kantonian Voltorb in spawns. At present it can't evolve. First, the Research Breakthrough Reward has been announced. From February 1st 2022 at 20:00 UTC to March 1st 2022 at 20:00 UTC you'll get a Espurr which can be shiny as of the breakthrough
Regirock will be in 5 Star raids Feom February 1st through 9th
Registeel from February 9th through 16th
Normal Forme Deoxys from February 16th through 19th
Attack forme Deoxys from February 19th through 22nd
Defense Forme Deoxys from February 22nd through 25th
Speed Forme deoxys from February 25th through March 1st
From February 16th through March 1st, players will get two free raid passes a day from spinning Gyms
Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Lugia and Ho-Oh will be in 5 Star Raid Battles during Pokémon GO Tour
Mega Houndoom will be in Mega Raids until February 15th and Mega Ampharos will run from February 15th throgh March 1st
You will get increased Candy from hatching eggs and 2* Hatch Experience all month
There will also be several events throughout the month
Lunar New Year event runs from February 1st through 7th
Valentine's Day event will run from February 10th through 14th, with a new Fairy-type evolution line making its debut
A GO Tour Johto Leadup Event will run from February 18th through 25th which is Poké Ball Focused

DeNA have announced some new features for Pokémon Masters EX. First, the Jukebox will arrive next month. This is found by searching for Chatot in the Pokémon Center and you can listen to music. You can then unlock more with Song Keys by raising Sync Pairs to 6 Star EX or exchanging Music Coins in the items section. A special Event battle will run from January 28th to give you a chance of getting coins
The Valentine's Event, Sweet Shenanigans has been announced. This adds Marnie & Mawile and Bea & Vanilluxe as Seasonal Sync Pairs
More stages to the Sinnoh Chapter of the story will drop on February 10th which will run alongside a new event that lets you collect Palkia Crystals which expands Cyrus Sync Grid without consuming energy

This event will has 3 Hour Incense & 3 Hour Lure Modules as well as a special bonus of 3* Catch Stardust and bonus Hoppip XL Candy from Skiploom caught in parks. However, it will also give out the move Acrobatics to Jumpluff. You will be able to purchase a ticket to receive Special Research "A Hop, Skip, and Jump Away".
The Community Day runs at 11am to 5pm in each local time zone

Today marks the Pokémon GO Community Day. On this day, for three hours in each region, Bulbasaur will appear, enmass, in Pokémon GO with a chance of Shiny Bulbasaur appearing. Shiny Galarian Moltres will be given to players who enter and battle in the 2022 International Challenge April. Registration runs from March 31st - April 14th with battles from April 15th - 17th
Another online competition will run with Registration from April 21st through May 5th and battles May 6th through 8th. This is another Japan Championships Qualifier and gives 50BP
Players in Japan who enter these have a chance of winning a place in the Pokémon Japan Championships 2022 which take place later this year.

Pokémon TCG - Star Birth
The Pokémon Company have officially revealed all the standard cards the next set for the Pokémon Sword & Shield TCG.This is the ninth TCG set and comes in one set: Star Birth and is out next week January 14th 2022. This set is a set primarily based around Pokémon from the Sinnoh Region and introduces the Pokémon VSTAR mechanic into the game.
As such, our card listing and the associated Cardex have been updated with the details of this set with thanks to ToineLay for help with translation.

Niantic have announced the next Pokémon GO event. This event is the Mountains of Power event and is due to run from January 7th at 10:00 to January 13th at 20:00 local time and introduces Mega Aerodactyl and Shiny Slugma into the game
There will be 1/2 walking distance to earn hearts with your buddy
There will be Timed Research with encounters for Mawile and Beldum
Zubat, Machop, Geodude, Slugma, Nosepass, Barboach, Onix and Ferroseed will be in the wild
Alolan Geodude, Onix, Beldum, Bronzor will be in 1 Star Raids
Ursaring, Donphan, Medicham and Absol will be in 3 Star Raids
Heatran will be in 5 Star Raids
Mega Aerodactyl will be in Mega Raids
Alolan Geodude, Mawile and Slugma will be in Field Research

Pokémon Team Challenge
Season 3 of the Pokémon Team Challenge event has begun. This Team Challenge is the third iteration of the TCG competition facing stores against eachother. It has qualifiers run through January 15th through May 8th with playoffs in July to September. The deadline to register is March 27th and registration opens up on January 7th. Where play has resumed on the Play! Pokémon circuit, stores can run the tournaments in-person or via TCGO whereas all otheregions are only available in TCGO.

Niantic have announced a new event: Pokémon GO Community Day Classic: Back to Bulbasaur. This runs January 22nd 2022 and features Bulbasaur, with Venusaur coming with Frenzy Plant. There will be Special Research for $1 as well as 3* Catch Experience, and boosted Incense & Lure Modules.
The Community Day runs at 2pm to 5pm in each local time zone

Pokémon Sword & Shield - VGC Ruleset
The Pokémon Company have announced the Series 12 ruleset, which will begin on February 1st 2022 through to August 31st. This ruleset expands on previous rulesets in that it allows 2 Restricted Pokémon. It allows for Pokémon in the Galar Pokédex, Isle of Armor Pokédex and now Pokémon in The Crown Tundra Pokédex, including other Pokémon not in the dex such as some Legendary Pokémon and 2 Restricted Legendary Pokémon per team. In the change from Series 10, it will allow for Dynamax once again. All Pokémon must have a Galar symbol or the Battle Ready Symbol.

Ranked Battle Series 11/Season 26 is now live. This ruleset returns to the set of using 1 Restricted Pokémon and brings back Dynamax. This season will run from January 1st at 04:00 UTC to January 31st at 23:59 UTC. Be sure to check out our section for full details and Pokémon restrictions.
With this, the twenty-fourth season of Pokémon Sword & Shield's Ranked Battle has come to an end and with it, the rewards for participation in battles is now live. To get them, you need to check your ranking in the Ranked Battle mode and then go to Mystery Gift > Receive via Battle Stadium. These rewards include BP and items range from Armorite Ore up to Bottle Caps depending upon your placement.

The Pokémon Café ReMix Pichu Points Event has begun. This event has players collect points by playing various stages in order to recruit Pichu. This runs until January 12th 2022
Alongside this, Shiny Minccino will also start appearing in greater numbers until January 4th
There is also a new Monthly Goal Pass which provides the outfit of Scorbunny Beach Vibes
